The WeedRoller
The WeedRoller uses innovative linked rollers with fins to remove aquatic weeds, muck and silt from in front of a dock or pier or to clear a swimming or beachfront area. Moving in a 270 degree arc, the rollers slowly detach aquatic weeds and stir up the lake bed, allowing silt and sediment to float away and valuable sand to settle back to the bottom. The result is a clean, natural lake bottom ideal for swimming and water activities. The aquatic weeds that are cut loose can be quickly and easily gathered with a lake rake and disposed of.
Once the initial clean up is complete, it requires only occasional use to keep the area weed free. A reversing action built into the drive automatically brings the roller back to complete the cycle and the "Smart Switch" feature senses heavy weed or muck conditions and reverses rotation to avoid getting stuck. Six quick reversals will shut the unit down.
The WeedRoller easily mounts to a dock or optional tripod in minutes, is environmentally safe, and requires about the same power it takes to operate a household light bulb. The standard unit will stand in up to 4-1/2 feet of water and includes a power head, universal dock hardware, power converter, a six-foot main power cord (to converter), a 70-foot power cord (from converter to power head and 21 feet of rollers. The unit is also equipped with a flexible coupler at the head and between the seven and fourteen foot lengths. The couplers allow the unit to follow contours on the lake bottom. AlthoughThe WeedRoller has been approved by most state environmental agencies, specific approval or permits may be required.
